Thomas L. Turner, 65, of Winfield, passed away March 20, 2016, in Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, surrounded by family and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Miles Funeral Service. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will greet visitors from 6 to 7.

Memorials have been established in Tom's name for the American Diabetes Association and for the Cowley County Humane Society. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Tom was born Aug. 19, 1950, in Winfield, to Cecil Lee and Margaret (Parker) Turner. Raised and educated in Winfield, he graduated from Winfield High School in 1968. He then attended Wichita State University and Southwestern College. While at Southwestern, he was a member of the golf team. He later transferred to the University of Kansas where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1974. After school, he joined his father at Winfield Laundry and Dry Cleaning.

On June 4, 1977, Tom married Belinda Cook in Winfield. The couple made their home in Winfield where Tom continued to own and operate Winfield Laundry and Dry Cleaning and was the third generation of his family to do so.  

A member of the  Winfield Country Club, Tom was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading and watching sports with his buddies.  

Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Belinda Turner, Winfield; daughter Jaclyn Turner, Winfield; and sisters Marilyn Turner-Stevens and husband Chuck, El Cajon, Calif., and Maralee Turner, Webster, Texas.
